Description

American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a Long Term Care unit requiring an Alaska license in hand, previous travel experience, and at least 1 year of LTC experience.

Details

• Long Term Care facility setting with 40 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• 4x12 hour shifts, either Days (0700-1930) or Nights (1900-0730), without rotation between shifts except for urgent staffing needs
• 26 or 13 week assignment options available
• May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
• ECS charting system used
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Current Alaska LPN/LVN license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required
• Previous travel assignment experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation (one-time $10 fee)
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient admission, vital sign monitoring, medication administration, wound/skin care, ambulation assistance, blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, and foley catheter insertion
• Scrub color is unrestricted
• Free parking available onsite
• Facility arranges shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at start and end of contract, plus local shuttle service in Seward
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract, must be submitted upfront with application
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates with Nursys or background check hits will not be accepted by the facility
